NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed on Wednesday that the alliance remains fully prepared to defend every inch of its territory following the discovery of Russian drone debris on Romanian soil. The incident, which occurred near the Ukrainian border, has prompted urgent security assessments within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as the conflict in Ukraine threatens to spill over into member states.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis condemned the breach, labeling the collision a violation of his nation’s sovereign airspace. He called for a firm, coordinated, and appropriate response from the alliance to ensure the safety of Romanian citizens and the integrity of NATO’s eastern flank.
